A Letter To Santa (December 11, 2007)

I bought Corrina a book at Barnes and Noble this weekend about a
little boy's letter to Santa. Inside of the front cover, there was
some notebook paper and two envelopes to mail letters to Santa.
I thought it would be nice to have her dictate a letter to Santa
while I write it and then I can keep it in my memory box of things
to look through when she's a teenager and on my last nerve. So I
can look back and remember what a sweet girl she was.
I forgot to break it out last night and read it to her in light of a
clothes dryer fiasco and I remembered tonight at dinner.

“Corrina, guess what.”

“Ummm......love you?”

“Well, yeah, I do, but guess what else.”

“What?”

I told her I got her a book about Santa and that after we read it,
we can write a letter to him. Her face lit up and she said
“Ooooorrr, we could write a number to him.”

It took me a minute to catch up and realize she had interpreted what I said quite
literally. She held up three fingers and said “I think I will write
Santa the number 3 because I'm three years old!”
